First run in the app

The guide the iPhone and Android apps show the first time, on the same session as your terminal.

The first time you open the app, it points at its own controls: three steps on the Machines tab, and up to seven more the first time a terminal opens. The video below is one take on two screens. The computer runs st and stays in the session, and the phone opens the app for the first time, adds the link st printed and joins. When the phone splits a pane and zooms it, the computer's terminal changes too, because it is one session.

The iPhone's first run, next to the terminal it shares the session with.

Steps for controls the machine doesn't have are skipped. With st --mux none there is no multiplexer, so the Panes and Zoom steps and the two-finger swipe between windows don't appear.

Documents

Documents have a short guide of their own, shown where it applies rather than in this tour: the first time you open the Documents tab, and the first time you open a machine's Documents. Four pages, in order: documents on this device (offline, folders, where the files are), a machine's documents and the two saves (Save to computer and Save on this device), how documents get here (st doc), and using it with your agents (the CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md paragraph and an example prompt, each with a copy button). The ? on those screens opens it again. See Documents.

Seeing it again

Next and Back move through the steps, and Skip closes the guide. Either way, it doesn't come back on its own. Settings → Guide and about → About → Show guide again shows both parts again: the Machines steps the next time that tab opens, and the terminal steps the next time a terminal connects. It brings back the documents guide too.

The guide is in English or Korean, following the app's language (Settings → Appearance → Language), which is the device's unless you change it. The step-by-step guides for iPhone and Android cover the rest of the app.
